What matters in 20 seconds
Tea Gyokuro Mikoto is an exceptional Japanese green tea hand-picked from the first spring harvest. Shading for 20–30 days before harvest increases the content of L-theanine and chlorophyll, resulting in a rich umami flavour, silky texture, and deep emerald colour.
Gyokuro delivers focused calm — a unique combination of L-theanine and natural caffeine for deep work and mindful rituals. Pure luxury in a cup.

Key benefits
- Hand-picked from the first spring harvest.
- Gyokuro Mikoto comes from the first spring harvest — known as ichibancha — when the tea leaves have the highest concentration of active compounds, the most delicate flavour, and the richest aroma. Hand-picking ensures only the finest leaves are selected.
- 3 weeks of shading for elevated L-theanine content.
- Gyokuro is shaded for 20–30 days before harvest — unlike other green teas. Shading stimulates the production of L-theanine and chlorophyll at the expense of bitter catechins, resulting in a silky umami flavour and a higher concentration of L-theanine.
- Umami — a complex gastronomic experience.
- Gyokuro is renowned for its sweet umami flavour and silky texture, a result of its high amino acid content. It is a tea for those who appreciate the art of tea in its purest form.
- L-theanine for focused calm.
- The higher L-theanine content in gyokuro — compared to other green teas — combined with natural caffeine delivers an ideal state of focused calm: no jitters, no distraction. Perfect for deep work and meditation.

Each pack contains 50 g (approx. 20 cups at 2,4 g gyokuro/cup).
Traditional preparation: 2–3 g gyokuro + 50–60 ml water at 50–60 °C, steep for 90–120 seconds. Low water temperature is key — it preserves L-theanine and umami flavour.
The same leaves can be steeped 2–3 times — each infusion reveals a different flavour profile.
Tip: Store in a sealed container, away from direct light and strong odours. Best kept in the refrigerator to preserve freshness.
