Built With Intent
Zinc Complex is built on four minerals in chelated organic forms and one botanical extract. Chelated forms (bisglycinate, selenomethionine, picolinate) are described in the literature as significantly more bioavailable than their inorganic equivalents.
15 mg (150 % NRV) A chelated form of zinc bound to glycine. Zinc contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system, the maintenance of normal hair, nails and skin, and normal protein synthesis.
55 µg (100 % NRV) An organic form of selenium bound to the amino acid methionine — considered the reference standard for selenium bioavailability. Selenium contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and normal thyroid function.
1 mg (100 % NRV) A chelated form of copper. Copper is included to balance zinc — higher zinc intake without copper can, over time, disrupt their equilibrium in the body. Copper contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system.
50 µg (125 % NRV) An organic form of chromium with better bioavailability than inorganic chromium chloride. Chromium contributes to maintaining normal blood glucose levels.
25 mg, 4:1 concentration (Cinnamomum verum) A concentrated extract from Ceylon cinnamon bark (not cassia). A popular botanical ingredient in supplements targeting glucose metabolism. Ceylon cinnamon contains significantly less coumarin than cassia.
Why chelates and not oxides
Minerals in cheaper supplements most often appear as oxides and inorganic salts — less expensive to produce, but with a lower absorption profile. Zinc Complex relies exclusively on chelated and organic forms, which are better tolerated by the digestive system.
Zinc bisglycinate
A chelated form of zinc bound to glycine. Studies report a significantly higher absorption profile compared to zinc oxide, which still dominates cheaper products.
Selenomethionine
An organic form of selenium bound to the amino acid methionine. It is among the most bioavailable forms of selenium available in supplements and is considered the standard in clinical selenium research.
Ceylon cinnamon 4:1
An extract from Cinnamomum verum — true Ceylon cinnamon, not cheaper cassia. The 4:1 concentration means 25 mg of extract is equivalent to 100 mg of cinnamon bark powder.
When and how to take it?
The recommended daily dose is 1 capsule. Swallow whole with a generous amount of water. We recommend taking with food for better digestive tolerance.
