Key benefits
- A unique powdered tea rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
- Supports concentration and delivers sustained energy for 3–6 hours without the caffeine crash.
- Helps detoxify the body and supports the immune system.
- Also great as an ingredient in smoothies, desserts, or the popular Matcha latte.
Preparation
Matcha has a specific preparation method that requires following a few steps:
- Add 2 grams of Matcha powder (approximately 1 level teaspoon) to a bowl (Chawan).
- We recommend using a traditional bamboo scoop (Chashaku) for precise measuring.
- Pour 200 ml of water at 75 °C over the powder (never use boiling water, to preserve the flavour and nutrients).
- Using a bamboo whisk (Chasen), whisk the tea for 20–30 seconds until frothy.
- Whisk using M or W-shaped strokes.
- Drink the prepared Matcha directly from the bowl it was made in.
Important tips:
- After use, rinse the whisk with clean water and leave it to dry on a stand (Kuse Naoshi).
- Store matcha in an airtight container in a dry, dark place. Once opened, we recommend consuming the tea within 2–3 weeks to preserve freshness and full flavour.
