What makes it unique?
You may have spent time in the United States, Australia, or Western Europe, where nut butters are a staple of a healthy lifestyle. Back in Slovakia, beyond peanut butters loaded with sugar and artificial preservatives, we couldn’t find a product that both appealed to our taste and met our exacting quality standards. So we decided to change that.
With a vision for flawless food, we set out on a research journey and tested more than 50 different brands at home and abroad. A turning point was the Organic Food Festival in London, where we gained valuable insights for our recipe.
We then spent several months developing our own product. The result is a unique almond “butter” with no added sugar. Extra-virgin olive oil smooths the texture, making it less sticky on your teeth. And a pinch of sea salt completes the flavour experience. “Butter” is flavour-neutral and suits both sweet and savoury cooking.
Why almonds?
You may already know this, but not all nuts are created equal! Peanuts, for example, are not an ideal source of nutrients due to their high content of polyunsaturated fats, allergens, and omega-6 fatty acids. Walnuts, meanwhile, are highly susceptible to mould and oxidation, which inevitably lowers their nutritional value and increases their pro-inflammatory effect.
From this perspective, almonds and macadamia nuts stand out as truly unique. Almonds not only contain a high concentration of monounsaturated fatty acids, which are an ideal source of energy for the body, but also plenty of protein, vitamin E and fibre.
