Why is this porridge the better choice?
Compared with an ordinary breakfast, this porridge has 2 main benefits. It is light and at the same time tasty even without refined sugar or artificial flavourings. To make the porridge a little more filling we used ghee butter. Ghee contains neither lactose nor casein, and the porridge itself is naturally gluten-free. A light breakfast that still keeps you going.
Why you don’t have to compromise on taste
Ghee butter, pistachio cream and fruit are 3 foods of pure taste. The ghee butter makes the porridge richer and more filling. The pistachio cream and the fruit take care of the sweeter flavour. But this is sweetening without the guilt. It is not comparable with ordinary refined sugar or syrups.
Method:
- Pour roughly 2 dl of water into a pan and bring it to the boil.
- Add a tablespoon of pistachio cream, turn the hob down and gradually sprinkle in the porridge.
- Add the porridge while stirring constantly until the mixture slowly begins to thicken. We do not want the porridge too stiff, though; the right consistency is semi-thick, so we can pour it into a bowl.
- Add a teaspoon of ghee butter to the finished porridge and season to your own preferences. We used banana, a mix of nuts and freeze-dried fruit.
